Piazza Armerina (Italy) - meeting diary

Monday ,3th June
JOÃO SILVA

Today, i woke up at 6 am and then i dressed up and talked with vito and João. After a little bit of conversation i took the breakfast. It was milk and cookies. A little bit after Vito's father drove me to the school where we met our friends. What happened after that was the welcome celebration with a band. Following the program all the countries started doing their presentations, starting by Italy. Then we went to a coffee break and after that we finished watching all the presentations, ending with the Polish presentation.
Then we went painting some drawings of the mosaics of villa romana to have a better communication with all the group. After that we had lunch that was traditional Sicilian food. In the evening I went to a cafe with all the hosts and guests. We stayed there until 16 when we departed to the villa Romana to see the mosaics. Then I went home with Sabrina's mother. At night we had a family dinner where João and I joined Vito and Vito's parents. In the end of the dinner we went to sleep.

Tuesday, 4th June
PEDRO FERREIRA

Today i ate a traditional sicilian cake for breakfast and went to school at 8 a.m.
When we got to school we headed to the auditorium and we were divided into groups with at least one person of each nationality. This group had to prepare for a debate with a certain theme, for example, my group was fitness and healthy lifestyle. At first it was a little hard but then we got along and everything went well, this helped us to create stronger bonds among us. At lunch we went to "Pizzeria Europa" to try the so famous italian pizza.
After lunch we went to see Piazza Armerina, the churches and parks, after that we went to the city hall to meet the Mayor of Piazza Armerina. After that we went home, and went out for dinner at a pizzeria, and I ate another pizza because they are really good! After the dinner we got out with a group of Italians and it was really good. There is a great atmosphere in the streets in Italy, it's incredible.

Wednesday, 5th June
RAQUEL PATULEIA

The day started with a long trip to Palermo.
When we got there we went to a park, we continued to walk and we passed by two streets named Via Lungarini and Palazzo Merlo. After we entered a church, Chiesa di San Francesco D'Assisi. Later we went to a place where there was a basilica and a fountain. After a while we went to The Royal Palace and we stayed there for lunch. Then we took a bus to a church in Monte Real. Next we had an event and later we went home.
I think that Palermo is a beautiful city with a lot of history, churches, nice people, nice souvenirs and sun.
At night we went out with the Portuguese and Italians and it was incredible.

Thursday, 6th June
MARIANA SANTOS

I started the day with a toast with nutella. We went to Piazza Armerina where we caught the bus to Catânia. The teachers gave us free time to see everything we wanted. First we went from Piazza Duomo, where is the Cattedrale di S.Agata, to Fontana dell'Elefante that is a beautiful place with clean water. After we walked to Piazza Pardo, where we saw a lot of fish that is sold to the population. All the places were very beautiful, but one of the best moments of the day was at night. At 20:30 we went to a restaurant where we ate pizza all together and sang karaoke. It was very good because at that time I had a lot of fun.
